Computer Prices Are Expected To Go Up Soon — Act Now to Replace Windows 10 Computers

Windows 10 logoIf your business is still running Windows 10, now’s the time to plan ahead. Microsoft is officially ending support for Windows 10 in October 2025, which means there will no longer be security updates or patches. If you have older PCs that can’t be upgraded to Windows 11, you’ll need to replace them before then.

Another reason not to wait: Prices on computers may be going up soon.

The U.S. has gone back and forth regarding tariffs on electronics and components imported from China. This uncertainty means everything from laptops to desktops to parts like motherboards and graphics cards could see price increases in the coming months. For small businesses, this could make hardware upgrades more expensive if you wait too long.

Suppliers are already freezing discounts, delaying quotes, and raising prices as pre-tariff stock runs out. We can expect to see supply gaps and limited availability across the board as long as US economic policy remains reactive and erratic.

Our advice? Don’t wait until the last minute. If you have Windows 10 machines that cannot be upgraded, it’s better to replace them sooner than later—before prices rise and inventory tightens. A little planning now could save you money and help ensure a smooth transition for your team.

If you’re a managed services client of ours, you’ve already received a list of your computers that need to be replaced.
