Our Team
Since 2005 we’ve grown Geek Girls IT by serving our clients with exceptional integrity, reliability and competence. These qualities allow us to provide the best managed IT Services in New Jersey.
Below you can learn more about our core administrative and technical staff who make that happen.
Roberta Piket
Senior Consultant and CEO
Roberta is the founder of Geek Girls IT Services. She holds a bachelor’s degree in computer science from Tufts University, which she earned concurrently with a bachelor’s degree in jazz piano from New England Conservatory.
Roberta worked briefly as a software engineer (at the long-defunct Digital Equipment Corporation) before pivoting to a career as a professional jazz pianist. Roberta’s interest in IT support began when, as a working artist with limited financial resources, she was motivated to solve her own computer problems. She soon discovered that her left brain was well-suited for the task, and in 2005 she founded Geek Girls to provide IT support to New York and New Jersey companies.
Roberta is proud of Geek Girls IT Services’ unique status as a certified woman-owned computer services business in New Jersey.
Nancy Hug
Office Administrator
Nancy joined Geek Girls IT Services in 2016. Clients appreciate her upbeat and helpful personality. She’s usually the first point of contact when you reach out to us, and will go out of her way to accommodate your needs.
Nancy has a degree in psychology; she also spent many years as a professional musician (including tours with Deep Purple guitar great Ritchie Blackmore) before re-entering the business world.
Matthew P.
Senior IT Specialist
Matthew has been working in IT and computer services in New Jersey and New York for over fifteen years. He first became interested in technology when he was twelve. “My mother bought a computer for my brother and me”, he explains, “and I took it apart. (My mother was so angry!) When I put it back together it was fully functional! From that point on I would take apart any electronics that I could get my hands on and learn everything about them.”
Matthew has a degree in Network Systems Administration, but he considers himself largely self-taught. He is an expert in network security, web services security, PHP, JAVA, and Windows and Apple operating systems.
Matthew loves the everyday challenges of working at Geek Girls IT Services in Bergen County. He especially enjoys troubleshooting issues and addressing security vulnerabilities in networks and websites. In addition to technology, Matthew enjoys riding his Banshee Two-Stroke Quad and spending time with his wife and children.
Alexis Lucio
IT Specialist
Alexis has been interested in technology since childhood. Early on, she became the de facto tech support for her household. Alexis went to Fairleigh Dickinson University for Electrical Engineering but prefers information technology. She is an expert in networking, Mac OS, and Linux and especially likes working in network and server side administration. Alexis enjoys working at GGIT and her customer service skills add great value to the team.
In her free time, Alexis produces EDM, pop and rock music. Alexis was born and raised in Jersey City, NJ.
Dan Lehman
IT Specialist
Dan has been working in IT and computer services for over ten years. He became interested in technology as a boy when his older brother was gifted a brand-new PC, but Dan wasn’t allowed to use it. From that point on, Dan became fascinated by computers and gadgets. As a teenager he made the decision to attend a technical high school, thus beginning his IT career.
Dan is a CompTIA A+ Certified Professional and graduate of the Cisco Networking Academy; he also has a great deal of self-taught knowledge (earned via a wide range of professional experience) and is a strong communicator. Dan’s favorite part of working in IT is the constant challenge and the ongoing opportunity to learn more.
After Dan clocks out, he continues to be engrossed in technology through podcasts and events. Dan was born and raised in Gibbstown, New Jersey.
Mariusz Kowalski
Technical Assistant
Mariusz is currently pursuing a bachelor’s degree in computer science at Montclair State University. His first memory of technology is of a PlayStation 2 he was given when he was 10 years old. After that, he became obsessed with technology and learning more about it, which led to his current course of study. Mariusz especially enjoys helping others with their IT issues and concerns.
Mariusz grew up in New Jersey and has lived here his entire life. His other interests include reading books and playing soccer.
